strawberry picking

Last weekend we loaded up in the minivan for a family adventure! We've bought raspberries from The Berry Patch stand at the farmers' market for a couple years now and I've always wanted to visit and pick our own, but somehow always forget about it. Then I started seeing people post pictures of strawberry picking and there were only a few days left of June (when picking ends here) so we quickly added it as an addendum to our summer bucket list.

Rooney is such a cautious one. She wouldn't take a step through the field without hanging onto a hand, but she got a lot more excited about the whole thing when she realized there were strawberries underneath all those leaves.

I spent most of my time taking pictures, and Eric did the picking. Rooney's favorite part was taste-testing the goods, of course. Luckily it really wasn't frowned upon at this particular farm. Who needs a table? Farm to mouth, for the win!

She was so proud of those "straw-la-berries!"

We paid a whole $2 for that basket of berries and then moseyed into the "country store," where we grabbed a couple smoothies for the road.

P.S. Rooney's romper is from Old Navy; headband from Little Hip Squeaks; hand-me-down rain boots from Target. My shirt is from J.Crew; shorts from Madewell; boots are Nomad brand from DSW.
